Re: Letter of Support for the tenure review of Dr. Stephen Bronack
I want to support Dr. Bronack’s application for tenure in our department in the highest possible terms. Dr. Bronack came to us as an experienced professor with an exceptional teaching record, well recognized scholarship within national and international circles and a large multi-year grant. Over the several years that he has been with us, he has developed into an exceptionally strong faculty member in our program area and continues to build upon an international reputation acquired from his writing workshops and presentations around the world.
I have had the pleasure of working closely with Dr. Bronack in many of these endeavors. He is an inspiring team player who works very closely with the faculty and students in our program. He has contributed substantially to the articles and presentations our program area faculty have made in conferences throughout the world. In addition, he is an exceptionally articulate speaker and writer who represents our program, our department and our college exceptionally well in regional, national and international forums.
He has contributed greatly to the success of moving this program area and elements of the department into a distance education format that make sense to students and moves beyond the contemporary boundaries that characterize many such programs. He has worked closely by collaborating with colleagues in other program areas and departments in writing, presenting and teaching. In this effort, he has been unfailing in his efforts to serve students in ways that meet their needs as well as continuing efforts to develop a very new, nationally recognized model distance education program.
Dr. Bronack has given much to the Instructional Technology program, this department and this college. I expect continued contributions as he moves forward in his career. He represents the kind of creative and thought provoking faculty member that we want and need in these times of educational transitions that are all about us.
I completely support his tenure. Please let me know if I can assist further in his tenure process.
